Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering awards the Juan López de Peñalver Prize to Óscar Corcho García, full professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence

The Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering has distinguished with the Juan López de Peñalver Prize to Óscar Corcho, full professor at the School of Computer Engineering and co-director of the Ontological Engineering Group. The award recognizes his contributions in the study of the semantic web and linked data, ontological engineering and the application of semantic technologies in different domains, such as e-science and open science.

Asunción Gómez-Pérez, Aritmel National Prize for Computer Science

The Spanish Scientific Society for Informatics awarded the 2015 Aritmel National Prize for Computer Science to Asunción Gómez Pérez, full professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the UPM’s School of Computer Engineering at the awards ceremony held on 14 September within the 2016 Spanish Computer Science Congress (CEDI).

Concha Bielza imparte charla plenaria de inauguración del Workshop "Artificial Intelligence for the Fight Against COVID-19"

La charla titulada "Interpretable machine learning applied to Covid-19 " arrancó el Workshop "Artificial Intelligence for the Fight Against COVID-19" celebrado en Bilbao durante los días 6-8 de abril de 2022, organizado por Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM). Se repasaron diferentes aplicaciones de aprendizaje automático al Covid-19, principalmente en farmacología, epidemiología, salud y medicina clínica.

Seminarios de profesores visitantes

Ya tenemos disponible la información sobre el seminario para el curso 22/23 que será impartido por un profesor visitante de reconocido prestigio.

Este año, por varias razones, no está siendo posible organizar más seminarios; confiamos en cualquier caso que este sea de interés.

Poder participar en este tipo de seminarios es una gran ocasión para profundizar en aspectos importantes de la Inteligencia Artificial y de todo lo que la rodea.

Pedro Larrañaga imparte la charla plenaria de clausura en el congreso EVOSTAR2022

La charla titulada "Estimation of Distribution Algorithms in Machine Learning" clausuró el congreso EVOSTAR2022 celebrado en Madrid del 20 al 22 de abril de 2022. El congreso reunió a alrededor de 300 investigadores provenientes de todo el mundo y se asienta como el congreso de computación evolutiva mas importante que se celebra en Europa, siendo esta su vigesimoquinta edición.

Concesión de Premios José Cuena para el curso 2022-2023

La Comisión Académica del Máster U. En Inteligencia Artificial, en su 107ª reunión celebrada el 18 de mayo de 2022, decidió conceder los Premios José Cuena correspondientes al curso académico 2022-23 a los siguientes alumnos:

El premio (1000 euros brutos) está cofinanciado por el Departamento de Inteligencia Artificial y por la UPM a través de sus ayudas a másteres oficiales.
