Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Accreditation Renewal Process (ACREDITA+, EURO-INF)
Spain is entering a new phase of higher education quality assessment with the renewal of the accreditation of official degree programmes. By law, the original accreditation of official degree programmes must be renewed periodically as of the date of their audit or their latest accreditation (Royal Decree 861/2010 of 2 July, amending Royal Decree 1393/2007 of 29 October, establishing the organization of official higher education programmes in Spain).
Within this context, ANECA (Spain’s national accreditation body) offers degree programmes in specified disciplines the possibility of earning an international quality label of recognized standing simultaneously with the process of renewal of the degree programme accreditation.
Since June 2015, the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence has been participating in the 2016 call for accreditation, through which the degree programme will renew its accreditation and also apply for the EURO-INF European quality label, exploiting the synergies between the two assessment procedures.
The EURO-INF quality label is a certificate awarded to a university in respect of a bachelor’s or master’s informatics degree programme assessed according to a series of set standards in accordance with the principles of quality, relevance, transparency, recognition and mobility as provided for in the European Higher Education Area.

Generally speaking, the process is composed of the following milestones:
1. Self-assessment report (ANECA submission deadline: 1 July 2015)
2. Planning of external review panel visit
3. Preparation of external review panel visit
4. External review panel visit (24 and 25 September 2015)
5. Application for accreditation renewal
6. Final assessment phase
The draft self-assessment report is available to all members of the university community that did not directly participate in the preparation of the self-assessment report to submit their comments, suggestions and criticisms, etc.
